P5 and P7 in class

It was a weekend of promising pace as well as disappointment.

Saturday began with practice where we found what we thought to be a good setup going into qualifying. Unfortunately, this turned out to not be the most optimal setup therefore meaning we were starting out of position of where we thought our pace would put us.

After spending time on the data we made some minor setup changes that made all the difference ending with me being P4 overall in warmup.

Going into Race 1 Colin showed decent pace and gained 1 position before getting held up by a train of cars. I then got in the car and made a further 2 positions at Agostini leaving us P5 in class while also having set the third fastest time of the race out of all of the GT4s.

Race 2 was started by me, and we showed good pace keeping up in the mix for a solid result. Colin took over and continued the show of pace, catching all of the cars in front. On the last lap Colin went for a solid move on the Mercedes ahead for P4 in class, unfortunately the other car tried to hold on around the outside of Hamilton which ended in us being pitched into the wall and therefore unable to take the chequered flag.

This was disappointing as Colin had a lot of pace and maybe would have had a chance at P3 in class on the tail end of the lap. The only saving grace to this ending of our weekend was that we were still classified P7 in class meaning we still scored points but a damn sight less than what we could have had.

Anyway time for a nice break before British GT’s next round at Donington, and I can’t wait as that is where we scored our first podium this season so hopefully we can build some momentum from this setback.
